Projects
The Ridgefield Lions Club is proud to participate each year in the town’s Memorial Day Parade, honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Our members march together—often accompanied by our beloved Lions mascot—and are joined by our Little League team to represent our community spirit across generations.
A highlight of recent years was seeing 97-year-old Lion Harold Hval ride in an antique carriage in 2018, leading our group with pride. With every parade, we reaffirm our commitment to service, remembrance, and community.

Shred Day
The Ridgefield Lions Club hosts two Community Shred Days each year—one in the spring and one in the fall—providing residents with a secure and convenient way to dispose of old documents while supporting local service projects.
Since launching the event in 2013, it has grown into one of our most successful fundraisers. In partnership with Oakridge, we offer on-site document shredding for $10 per copy-paper-sized box, with papers accepted in boxes or bags. Staples and paper clips may remain attached; however, binders, large clips and spiral notebooks cannot be shredded.
Community members are welcome to watch their documents being destroyed, and assistance is available for those with multiple boxes who may need help. Come out and help support the club on our next shred day!
Golf Tournament
We host our Annual Golf Tournament each spring, one of our largest and most popular fundraising events. Golfers enjoy a full day on the course, with green fees, carts, lunch, and dinner included.
After play concludes, the excitement continues with our signature helicopter ball drop, where numbered golf balls are released from above for a chance to win prizes.
The day also features raffles, friendly competition, and plenty of camaraderie—making it a highlight of our year and an important contributor to our community service efforts.
